With the Jubilee, and the general patriotic flurry this year, we wanted to do something to show our appreciation of the last 60 years of relative peace and prosperity, and to look forward to the future. We decided on putting up our own flagpole at the front of the building by the road.
We also decided to ask people to design a commemorative work of art for us – based on the theme Britain, yesterday, today, and tomorrow. The best design will have their work made up into a flag which we will run up our flagpole, and, or, be made up into a mounted poster to be displayed in the entrance area of the Church’s building.
We hope to do an exhibition of entrants as well, and they will be judged by age categories. There will be some Amazon vouchers as runner up prizes too. So why not give it some thought and let us see your designs. No entrance fee, just a bit of Jubilee year fun.
On June 2nd we will have a presence at the Jubilee day at the Peace memorial field, so come and find us to find out more.
